ALLENDE (CV3)

meteorite from a primitive, area in space that contained organic substances:

Carbonaceous chondrite, type III Allende, Mexico.Fall  : Pueblito de Allende, Mexico. Latitude 26 degrees 58' North, Longitude 105 degrees 19' West. A large shower of stones fell February 8th , 1969, 01:05 after a huge fireball lighted up Chihuahua State of Northern Mexico . More than 2000kg were collected. The largest individual found weighed appr. 100 kg but had fragmented on impact. The strewnfield is estimated to be appr. 150 sq.km, Nice large CA Inclusions (white) are typical.
